In 1995 a movie based on one of Masamune Shirow's masterpeices was created. The film and the Manga were known by the name
"Ghost in the Shell". This was a masterpeice of craftsmanship, because it was one of the first anime produced using good old
Japanese animation styles and special effects. Effects that not only highten the experience of watching the movie but also blend
almost seemlessly with the animation. Although I don't particularly like watching anime that use special effects to highten the experience,
I think that it should always be done by hand, I did enjoy this...it looked very well integrated to the animation. I like almost all of Shirow's
work, and I think Kodansha has done a great job of translating his work to Anime...but this was the film I probably enjoyed most.
