Saotome Ranma-kun

Saotome Ranma is the main character (duh). Probably the most interesting of the characters (he and Ranma-chan are tied for my favorite character) he oviously loves Akane, but is too...well...childish to show that he loves her. Ranma gets into more trouble than the other characters also (a lot of which is his fathers fault). Ranma has a few fiancées, so I'm working on this page at the moment. First off let's start when the curse did...When Ranma and his father went on a training mission to China they decided to stop by a very challenging looking training ground. Called Jusenkyo, Training Ground of Acursed Springs. Genma saw the training ground in a book and it looked challenging so they paid a visit. They just thought it was a regular training ground, dispite the name and the Guide's warnings. While practicing Ranma knocked Genma into Shaunmoaniichaun: Spring of drowned panda. Ranma was quite disconcerted to see a panda jump out of the spring instead of his father (wouldn't you be?). Still in awe of the panda, Ranma was knocked into Naruniichaun (I think that's the proper romanization): The Spring of drowned girl. This causes some rather interesting problems. First off: Ranma (a half girl now) is engaged to sevrel other girls. Second: men like him in his female form (ie: Kunou Tatewaki is in love with the Pig-tailed goddess, Ranma has fun and makes Hibiki Ryouga think he is other girls^^, All the boys at school are attraced to this side of Ranma, etc). Also, when he/she defeated Shampoo as a girl, Shampoo gave Ranma the kiss of death, and was tracked all over Japan and China by Shampoo. You can see the obvious problems here^^.

Name: Saotome Ranma. An old word for girl is 'saotome' thus Ranma's last name. Ranma 'wild horse' is more accurately Ranuma. 'Ran' or wild is correct for the kanji and hiragana interpretations, but 'ma' is only correct for the hiragana interpretation. 'Uma' is the Japanese word for horse, and the kanji used for 'ma' is the kanji for 'uma'. The name is still written correctly as Ranma, meaning 'Wild Horse'. Áá²µ½÷¡¡ÍðÇÏ is what the name looks like written in Japanese. Remember the family name is always first, given name second.

Note: you will need a program that reads Japanese text to see the kanji or hiragana or katakana that I use on this site. I suggest you get one^^.

A few subjects here to take care of^^. First of all: Ranma Nibunnoichi and Ranma are respective copyrights of Takahashi Rumiko (the original creater), Shogukan (the animation company which brings this wonderful story to life), Kitty Films (the brodcasting company [I belive] that brought this fantastic series to screens all over Japan). And a coupleother companies too^^. Also, Ranma Nibunoichi is liscensed to Viz Communications, for distrabutional purposes. Next subject: The pictures on this page do not belong to me^^. I would like to know who owns them to give them due credit for their *creations*. But be nice! If you're nasty about it I'll take credit! I will be subject to your terms of how it's distributed. But, again, be nice! Of course the original copyright belongs to Takahashi Rumiko (and the above companies). That's all for now^^
