The
plot start with Kamui, returning to Tokyo. He disappeared 6 years
ago with his mother, and comes back after his mother died in a fire.
Her last words were meant for Kamui and she told him to go back to
Tokyo and that fate will await him there. Kamuis return doesn’t
stay unrecognised , anyway it’s him who is the decisive factor in
the battle about the end of the world. Like this, all the other
chosen ones begin to gather in the city.

Kamui
meets his friends from his childhood, Kotori and Fuuma ,but he
behaves very cool towards them, because he doesn’t want to put
them in danger.The
case comes to a head, when Kamui wants to fetch the holy sword,
which is hidden in the temple of the Monou.
But
the sword has been stolen by Nataku and the father of Kotori got
mortally wounded, when he tried to protect the sword. Whereas Kotori
becomes a psychic wrack (also because of the death of her mother),
Fuuma begins to change nearly unrecognised.
Arashi
and Sorata start to get contact to Kamui, but he refuses to fight
for either side. Even when he meets Hinoto who pleads him, Kamuis
stays stubborn. For him, the only
thing which is important is the security of Kotori and Fuuma.

Bit
by bit Arashi and Sorata find more and more of the Dragons of Heaven,
but the Drag
ons of Earth begin to
gather too. Finally the 2. sword is given birth by Kamuis aunt.
When
the situation almost starts to escalate, and more and more fights
are taking place-where even Kotori and Fuuma get affected - Kamui
decides himself almost unrecognised for the Dragons of Heaven. In
the same moment, Fuuma became a Dragon of Earth. In front of a
horrified Kamui, Fuuma kills Kotori. After that, Fuuma disappears
and Kamui shuts up his soul. Only due to Subaru, he is able to find
a way out. He decides to save Fuuma, so that his friend becomes his
former self again… and here stars the fight between the Dragons of
Earth and Heaven.

That
is just a rough summary. Because of the many implications and
relationships between the characters, and of course there are a lot
more side-plots and events. Naturally Clamp offers some interesting
turns and events. In conclusion it’s really an interesting and
thrilling work. The German mangas…there are partly really bad
printed, also do the american paperbacks… so I would rather
recommend the original…

In
addition to the mangas and anime, there are 3 artbooks, whereof
X-Zero (the artbook of the manga) is the most recommended.
The other two are of the movie and the TV-series (First Contact).
Additional a whole lot of CD’s/radio-drama
and the typical merchandise were issued…
