Similar to Weiß Kreuz, X has been wished the most (hmm…had this something to do with the artbook presentation?). Well, whatever, this series belongs to my favourites, that are enough reasons , to present it in detail!

After the mangas finally were released in German, CLAMPS giant opus is now open for the German audience.

In the moment 10 volumes have been published…in Japan, there are 18 right now, but it will be 22 in the end.

The manga was created by the circle CLAMP; which has 4 members, and who have been responsible for masterpieces like Magic Knight Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, RG Veda or Angelic Layer (all of these series ,except RG Veda, are available in German !!).

Like the stories of their former mangas, X has an interesting plot and a surprising ending! The story about the Dragon of Earth (seven angles) and the Dragons of Heaven (seven seals) is absolutely compact and thrilling .

So many characters appear, and everything is just about the end of the world.

That’s the origin of the title…1999 should have been the year of the apocalypse. The manga exists since 1996.

Beside the manga, 1998 a movie has been released, which is fantastic. The animations are great, the characters are presented very well and the atmosphere is extremely dark and oppressive. The movie has been released as DVD in the USA and also in Germany some time ago.

There is only one disadvantage…they tried to put all the characters of the manga in a movie of about 2 hours…therefore it is better to know the mangas before watching the movie.

But in October 2001 the fans get awarded with the long-awaited TV-series of X. Two month before an OVA of X has been released (just about 20 minutes and I would call it a trailer for the TV-series o-O),the series is finished, and there are alltogether 24 episode, that are released in Germany and the USA.

The music is fantastic, the animations are on the level of an OVA, and finally one is able to watch the characters live.

The story is very much like the manga, it is very seldom, that they digress, and they abandoned disturbing plot-less episodes (at episode 14 they already reach the 10^th manga!).The characters are presented very well and altogether one can recommend the series (there is a really good fansub in the internet, and they are really fast, concerning the subbing !)

Well, finally the result… ^^; for the one, who likes Clamp, and who sets value on detailed and hilarious artworks and who finds the plot about the apocalypse  interesting, I could really recommend X!
