Zetsuai/Bronze

Beside Kizuna the most popular serie. You can say it counts to the first Shonen Ai Mangas. It was published in 1990 and Zetsuai is from the very talented mangaka Minami Ozaki.  "Zetsuai since 1989" has 5 volumes and is finished. In Germany the mangas are complete published, and also in France. The continuation is Bronze, has 11 volumes and is still running. Bronze is also published in Germany. 

´Between Zetsuai and Bronze there can be put a one volume long manga called "Bad Blood". It has different short stories and tells the story between Zetsuai and Bronze. 

Because of the big success the mangas has 1992 and 1997 an OVA for Zetsuai and one for Bronze has been produced. The first OVA tells the story of the first 4 mangas from Zetsuai, the second one the story from the first 3 volumes of Bronze. The quality is phanatstic, and it's a good summary. There are also 5 musicclips, called "Cathexis". They are musicclips wth songs from Zetsuai/Bronze and like the OVA high recommendable.

Zetsuai is about Takuto Izumi and Koji Nanjo. Takuto is a enthusiastic soccer player, who has a really tragical past, that turn him into a quite young man. Koji Nanjo on the other side is a playboy, the idol of many women and a very popular singer. They met by chance and Koji recognize, that Izumi is the "girl" he love for 6 years. He saw Izumi once, playing soccer and thought it was a girl. It took a while, since Koji understands his feelings and can confess Izumi his love. But with that step, the real problems started...

All in all, one of my personal favourites. Of course you have to like Ozakis style... she has a quite strange style, it took a while to get used to it. You can say it's an peculiar, but I think that's why I like this one so much...
