Mog Origami!

Name: Mog da' SLAM dancin' Moogle
From: Final Fantasy III (VIjpn) (moogles show up in almost all the FF games)
created by: arlip

Kupo! I really like how this turned out. You dunno how hard it was to make his antennae... I wanted to use a pipe cleaner, but all we had were gold sparley ones so I used that. Then I tried to cover it in black construction paper but it wouldn't stay, so I tried to use black contact paper. I had to glue that paper on, tape it shut and wait coupla days for it dry *phew* ^^;;; I used the pattern for Hello Kitty out of my Sanrio origami book, but used all white printer paper instead (that's why he looks so cat-like). I designed the add-ons myself (based on the pic of Mog in the FFIII booklet). The only problem is... his head is lopsided >_< That's what I get for not using really origami paper. This one was hard cuz the head is larger than the rest of the body, so when you get to the neck you havta add in all these extra pieces and it's kinda unstable for a while. How come it's Mog and not any old Moogle? If you look closely, you'll see that his nose is red and his antennae bulb is yellow; on other moogles, it's the other way around (yellow nose, red bulb).

wai! wai! My Mog origami was featured in the 8/08/01 Fanart column over at RPGamer!
I also got mail from Merripen (the current fanart person at RPGamer) saying the following:
"I wanted to pass along to you that Square's EA staff contacted us and said that they were very impressed with your work on the Mog origami. They wanted to commend you on some great artistry."
ain't that really kewl!? ^_^
