EPISODE 4
The famous scene where Trowa and Quatre played instruments together. Note
that this music is used only once throughout the entire series, and that
this music is listed under the category of "affection."
EPISODE 5
After Trowa left, Rasid asked Quatre what if Trowa was their enemy and he
attacked them and Quatre replied, "...that's what I wanted, because then
I'll be able to see him again." (well, he just wants to see Trowa again)
EPISODE 7
The second time Trowa met with Quatre, the next day they appeared at the
battlefield together, after they've spent the night at the hotel in San
Francisco (Quatre was the one to open the room, it's up to the viewers to
'interpret' what happened that night between them. Interesting note: The
next time Trowa saw Quatre was when Quatre was insane. He said to Quatre
that "This isn't like you at all." After they've only known each other for
such a short time? How did he manage to know Quatre that well?)
In the same episode, Trowa told Quatre that he wanted to fight by himself.
Trowa was saying that because he didn't want to drag Quatre into the mess
and got him hurt (the war). But one can also interpret "getting hurt" in
a different light.
EPISODE 24
1. Trowa said, "...it's Quatre right? Maybe it is time--time to meet up
with Quatre again. And then fight the OZ!"
2. Trowa said to Heero regarding Quatre in Wing Zero, "But...our opponent is Quatre, there's no worry."
3. When the OZ soldiers are all suspecting that Wing Zero has moved its
location, Trowa was sure of its location (of where Quatre will be). "No,
Gundam has to be here!"
4. "Quatre, then let me see, the power of the new gundam!" Trowa started to
fire as he finished his sentence but missed on purpose.
5. "Quatre! This is Trowa! Can you hear me, Quatre?!" (famous quote)
6. "What's the matter Quatre, this is not like the old you..." (another
famous quote) (the old Quatre? suggests that Trowa already knows Quatre
VERY well)
EPISODE 25
1. That whole long speech Trowa said to Quatre as his mobile suit is about
to blow up. Ugh...it's too long but it is really unlike Trowa to say
something like that; and trust me, it is more than what a guy would say to
a guy. I'll send a transcript of it upon request. it's GOOD. (Note: Trowa
took the blow intended for Heero, some people will say that he did it for
Heero. But basing upon the whole series, "saving Heero" is the 'result' of
Trowa getting in front of Heero, but NOT the original intention; otherwise,
he could just blame Quatre or he could've fought with Heero against Quatre.
But instead what he chose was giving up his life. This was his "original
intention"; he could've escaped from the mobile suit and escaped the
possibility of Death, but instead he used that time to talked sense into
Quatre--by that I am referring to that long speech he said to Quatre,
asking him to return to his kind tender self; after that, the MS blew up
and Trowa has chosen Death, because he believed that things can be changed
and he is willing to do it despite the cost as long as it can bring back
Quatre's sanity. Perhaps one can argue that Trowa doesn't care for his
life, but once must realize that before Trowa saw Quatre's insanity, before
he met Quatre again, he was still full of will and determination to fight.
He looked forward to seeing Quatre again. But then at the end, he was
willing to risk his life as well as the chances of the five pilots team
losing one important member, just to help Quatre.) And as Trowa was losing
his consciousness and drifting away in space, his last thought was still on
Quatre as he called out with his subconscious, "Don't...hurt
Quatre...Heero." (famous quote)
2. As Trowa is dying, Quatre was desperate to get to Trowa but Heero
stopped him from doing so, saying that he must kill Quatre. And Quatre
replied, "Then hurry and kill me, then please go save Trowa!" Quatre was
willing to give up his life just so that Trowa could be saved, this showed
just how much feelings Quatre had for Trowa.
EPISODE 33
Heero was ready to go to battle alone again, Quatre tried to stop him but
couldn't so he offered to go with Heero. But instead Heero replied, "No!"
Which surprised Quatre. And then Heero continued, "You can't die yet, not
before you've found Trowa..." (TQ: Wow, just mention Trowa's name and
Quatre's convinced! TQ's friend: Heero's pretty understanding on this one)
EPISODE 38
1. Quatre finally found Trowa, who was suffering from Amnesia.
Quatre: Trowa...it's Trowa!
Trowa: He is...who is he? I...I know him!! ...there's this feeling of
longing...
In the novel, as Quatre left the circus after having been yelled at by Cathrine, it was pointed out that Trowa seemed to recall Quatre as a figure with whom he had played a duet.
2. Trowa left the circus
Trowa: He's calling for me...I know, he's crying."
Trowa: Someone (that's Heero) once told me, it's all right to act base
on feelings..." (he said this AFTER he said that Quatre is calling for him,
therefore he acted base upon his feelings and went back to Quatre.
Catherine here also said to him that, "No matter what, you'll still going
to end up returning to him, right?" Again, she is referring to Quatre as
well.
3. When Trowa was still suffering from amnesia, he saw Quatre's gundam
and knew immediately which one was Quatre's, and he also knew that Quatre's
in the gundam.
EPISODE 39
Trowa returned to the battle field in this episode.
1. Trowa: ... as long as I can be with you (referring to Quatre and Noin),
it's already peaceful enough for me."
Quatre: Trowa...
2. The three of them were in a vehicle of some kind when they got attacked,
Quatre risked his life and tried to save Trowa.
3. After the battle, before Duo exited from his MS and start to
talk...Quatre, Trowa, and Noin's machines were standing side by side, and
Trowa's mobile suit looks as if it was leaning against Quatre's Sandrock.
To some people, it appeared as if: a) Trowa let Quatre leaned against him (the machines that is)
b) Quatre's got his arm around Trowa's waist (talking about
their gundams...)
EPISODE 43
Trowa went to save the colony, driving Wing ZERO. Quatre and Duo went
after him. Duo went into the colony first. Trowa regained his memory due
to Quatre.
Explanation: The first thing Trowa saw, was the scene where Quatre fired at
him with Wing ZERO, he felt this at the same time with the overwhelming
feeling of driving the Wing ZERO himself and it made him think of death and
fighting, which led to his remembering of Heero. The first thing he
remembered, was the picture of the time when he was with Heero on a
mission, that was remembering a situation and a scene, not a person. Then
he thought of Heero AND Catherine, both are related somehow with
'self-destruction'. Heero in that he admired Heero's determination. Back
then he has no real goal or anyone to protect, therefore he followed Heero
and tried to self-destruct in that circus performance earlier in the
series. As for Cathrine, she hit him as a result of his trying to kill
himself. Her words awakened him, "those people you left behind will be
crying for you!" And these words, made him thought of Quatre. In this
case, he thought of Quatre as the person himself. He remembered the first
time he met Quatre, and then saw Quatre's smiling face, and the time he had
remembering Quatre, was actually longer than the time in which he
remembered Heero and Catherine. Basing upon human nature, the last person
to appear, is usually the most important.
EPISODE 44
On the Peacemillion Spacecraft, Trowa stood in front of the glass window
and behind him sat Quatre and Duo. Heero sat across from Duo while Wufei
sat the furthest away. Trowa was staring at the reflection on the window
and he was staring at Quatre's reflection.
EPISODE 47
When Zechs encountered Quatre, Trowa cried for Duo and Wufei to save Quatre.
EPISODE 48
Trowa said, "Wait for me, Quatre." (famous quote)
EPISODE 49
Trowa was the one to save the injured Quatre... In the novel, Trowa even bandaged up Quatre's wounds for him before leaving.
BLIND TARGET
1. It is pointed out that after the series ended, Quatre had not been able to keep in touch with anyone except Trowa. Meaning that this whole time
Trowa and Quatre had been in contact. And it is not like Trowa at all to keep in touch in such a way with the other pilots.
2. When Quatre is thought to have died at the explosion at that convention, Cathrine rushed inside to inform Trowa of it. She was very upset and told Trowa that "something terrible has happened." Cathrine could have cared less about Quatre since
Quatre was the one who almost killed her 'brother.' But she knew of Quatre's importance to Trowa, that was why she was upset when she told Trowa of the news, since she knew (Cathrine was a very observant person when it came to Trowa).
3. Trowa was rather relieved and pleased when he found out later on that Quatre was alive after all.
ENDLESS WALTZ
Near the end of the OVA, where Duo blew up his, Trowa's and Quatre's gundams, Trowa commented that he is back to being nameless again and Quatre replied, "No, to me you're still Trowa."
MORE NOTES:
1. About Trowa letting Heero use his gundams, it is because he is not as
protective and insecure about his gundam--unlike Heero, who would only
repair his himself, and wouldn't let anyone else touch it if he can help
it. So therefore after episode 3, he handed the gundam over to let
Quatre's men fix it. And when he lent it to Heero later on, he already
knew that Heero was on their side against the OZ. But when he first met
Quatre, he didn't know about Quatre (didn't know whether Quatre's an enemy
or friend), but he still trusted Quatre, which is very rare since Trowa did
not trust people easily.
2. The opening scene of Operation Meteor II, it is Trowa who emerged from
Sandrock, slowly and carefully pulling Quatre up, supporting him.
3. After Quatre blown Trowa away and thought that he had killed Trowa. Quatre
came upon the wreckage of Heavyarms one day and started crying instantly. It
was explained later on in the novel that Quatre cried because he thought he saw
Trowa at the cockpit and it only turned out to be a shadow. Quatre was feeling
so much guilt and had so much feelings and emotions toward Trowa that he had
hallucinations of Trowa.
4. In Episode Zero about Trowa, it revealed Cathrine as Trowa's real
sister. Therefore there are no more females between them, unlike how Heero
has Relena, Duo has Hirde, and Wufei has Sally. It is very easy for the
producers to create girlfriends for them as well. But due to "certain
reasons", they don't.
5. Quatre can feel other people's heart, but Trowa is the only one who can
understand Quatre's heart (basing upon Episode 38, 43, 48 and the Blind
Target CD), which makes Trowa Quatre's only understander and the only one
who can see through him. Because Trowa is the only one who can feel
Quatre's heart, and understands.
