Clari is held mid-air in the teeth of a long dragon's stem as everyone looks on in shock. The rocks are blown aside and Drum rises from the ground. His arms have deformed into a hydra, and one head held Clari. The spell had not been complete and Drum had survived. Drum launches other hydra heads at Sforzendo soldiers and they are torn and thrown about. Percuss rushes with Coronet but he looses her as a hydra head strikes near them, knocking them over. Trom rushes to them. Drum decides to show off his 30 dragons in his hydra as he slaughters the Sforzendo army. Four more heads grab Clari and hold him by his limbs. Once again Drum boasts about his power then begins to launch fireballs at the castle.

  Raiel and Hamel watch from a distance as Guitar returns. He returns with a mission for Hamel, as the true successor he must prove his loyalty and kill Raiel. There is a long pause before Hamel flatly refuses. He does not want to take sides, he only wants to know if he is human or Mazoku.

  Everyone turns to Sforzendo as crying is heard from the loudspeaker Queen Horn and Flute once spoke through. It's Flute.

  Her questions begin again... why does everyone have to fight? Why can't they just live normally? What's wrong with enjoying the fruits of life?

  As everyone looks on solemnly, Drum begins to laugh... and his answer to flute is because humans are weak and miserable bugs. As a Mazoku, he can do anything he wants with his power.

  Queen Horn looks down at her daughter for a long moment before asking someone to take her somewhere safe. As she's helped up, she takes a new look. She is a bug, abandoned by her country and it's queen years ago. She runs from the servant and out the door. Queen Horn stands sadly and watches her run before Oboe comes to rest on her shoulder. He requests to stay in Sforzendo and help. Horn doesn't answer, but she replies to Flute's comments; that, after all, this is her fault... isn't it? She could have done more, done more than just the barrier... there would be no regrets. She looks up.

  Hamel is once again playing his violin. He doesn't know the tune, but his heart tells him to play it. Drum curses him for playing a sober tune. Drum and Guitar realize that this tune is not for them and begin to doubt which one of the magical music players is the real successor... Drun is fed up easily and sends his hydra's in to stop Hamel from playing the tune.

  Horn is on her balcony and orders Drum to stop.

  What's his purpose? The real purpose?

  Pandora's Box... which resides in the throne room of the castle.

  Horn overlooks the countryside and finds her only regret... Flute does not call her Mother.

  *eye catch*

  Hamel's music continues to play as Bass chuckles, very much amused that Horn finally brought out Pandora's Box. He calls on Drum.

  Clari is thrown from the grips of the hydra and Drum approaches the castle. Horn vows to put this war to an end. Clari lays bleeding as he looks up to Queen Horn and suddenly realizes that she's about to put the barrier back up (Sen'nichisen Barrier) but she is too weak to do it; it would be a self-sacrifice. They can only hope for Flute, who inherits the same power, to help her. But Flute wouldn't do it; not now. However, there is the mirror of truth. To everyone's surprise, Trom pulls it out of his pocket.

  Drum continues to advance on the castle as Trom sneaks along, trying to get there as well.

  *flashback to moments earlier*

  Clari hopes for Flute to wish from the bottom of her heart so she may see, in the mirror, why things are the way they are and hopefully understand.

  Percuss draws a magic circle in the air that turns into a vision of where Flute is at that moment... still running from the servant. Percuss takes a step to the castle but collapses, his ankle being injured when the hydra first struck beside him. Trom stands ready and volunteers to bring the mirror to Flute; as it is his duty, he will protect Sforzendo however possible. He is Dalsegno's 57th king.

  *end flashback*

  Trom rushes and Drum sees him in the corner of his eye. As he leaps over some rocks, Trom comes face to face with one of the hydra heads. From the other side of his line of vision Drum sees Flute run outside. Drum decides to go for the princess first and sends the hydras storming at her. Drum rushes around hydra heads as they thunder down around her. As he gets to her, they hydra's put so much pressure to the ground that it caved in and the two free fall down a huge gaping hole.

  Oboe now urges Horn on. She stands on her balcony, swearing to send Drum back to hell, as she revives her barrier once again.

  As Trom and Flute fall, Trom reaches for the mirror.

  Flute wakes to the sound of running water. She gets to her feet and looks down the dark pathway engulfed in a feeling of familiarity. She turns to hear soldiers come and Flute hides behind a large bolder dislodged during the fall. As she sits, she listens and wonders about the voices she's hearing. A procession of soldiers march down the hall and Flute reacts startled as she sees her grandfather Reshik speaking to Queen Horn. Queen Horn stands holding a baby in her arms; Reshik looks for confirmation that she is really willing to do this? But Horn's mind is made up and she wants her baby to be safe, "to grow up to be a good person in Staccato Village, strong and with a gentle heart." Reshik asks for a favor, for her not to sacrifice her own life. To stay alive and well until Flute returns. To not use her restoration spells or the barrier spell which drains the life from her body. Flute rushes up to the procession but no one notices. Reshik requests that Queen Horn treat Flute coldly when she returns - to test Flute. And in return, Reshik promises to raise her to pass this test of over coming all the obstacles in becoming the next Sforzendo Queen.

  Everything fades away and Flute sees Trom laying on the ground. In the mirror in his hand is the reflection of the past Flute just saw. Flute pauses and lets the realizations sink in.

  Again the images appear for Flute.

  Horn holds baby Flute before sending her away. She asks for her forgiveness for not being able to come with her... to please forgive her.

  Flute runs screaming up the stairs. Drum sends his hydra's hurling towards the wall and Queen Horn resurrects her barrier once again. Starting with the leading hydra, every Mazoku is turned to stone.

  Hamel's playing has yet to cease.

  In front of Queen Horn stands Flute, caught up in the power of the barrier. Horn looks to her daughter in surprise, the spell takes a toll on her too; why did she help? Flute tells her that's not true, a little more love makes the difference; and, with that all, she'd like to address her as Mother.

  *Hamel* "The fifth symphony of Tchaikovsky. She played for me long ago..."

  Hamel stops his playing, he now understands what was meant by his two ways. As Hamel walks towards the barrier, Guitar takes the opportunity and lunges at Raiel, stabbing him in the stomach. Raiel slowly looks off to Hamel approaching the light.
