Episode 9 S Read at your own risk EPISODE 9: Outbreak! The Second
Sforzendo War *narrative* Pandora's Box. It was co called because of the woman who reopened it. Pandora.. she's the mother of the inheritor of the Daimou King's flesh and blood. It's the name of Hamel's beloved mother. " Flute sits in her room, wondering, why does she have to come to this place; what was wrong with Stacatto? Couldn't she just be an ordinary person? Percuss stands in the palace grounds preparing the troops for the upcoming battle with the Mazoku - expected tomorrow. Raiel sits behind the procession, silent. Clari approaches him and hands him rations. With that, he requests that if needed, he'd like Raiel to work for him. But Clari stops his conversation, noticing Raiel's expression. He looks to him and asks him if he believes Hamel will return. Raiel doesn't answer. Clari reaches into his pocket and pulls out a mirror; the mirror of truth. "If you wish from the bottom of your heart, you'll see the truth." May it be the past or future, the mirror will reflect it. Raiel hands Clari back the mirror without a word. As he does, one of the Sforzendo guards rush up to Clari. Prince Trom and Lady Coronet have gone to find Hamel. Clari leaves the mirror with Raiel. Trom rushes through the woods of his country, Coronet following and taking care of the Mazoku they encounter. She catches up to Trom and tells him that they have to turn back, but Trom keeps going. Eventually they end up in a grave yard where the two crouch down. Trom points out they cannot turn back now - they're too far in and Mazoku are everywhere. Coronet points out that because they've come so far, they can't turn back. Trom, more hopeful than Coronet, reminds her that this is his country, thus he knows some short cuts. Moving a tomb stone out of the way, he reveals a hidden underground path that the two enter without detection. Down in the tunnel, Coronet asks Trom what he knows about Hamel going off with the Mazoku. Trom states, that if that is true, then Hamel will meet with his sword. But he's puzzled by Hamel's playing at Mt. Fine. Coronet stops him, she doesn't understand why everyone is so concerned about Hamel - he is Mazoku... and Flute has locked herself in her room. It makes no sense. Trom pauses and starts to question Coronet's actions but she cuts him off. She hates this crybaby Sforzendo has for a princess. She has a grandfather, Coronet does... named Reshik. Her parents died 15 years ago leaving her and her brother. The one who was suppose to raise them, Grandfather Reshik, was sent to Staccato to raise Flute. This was because, that village is used for raising the successors of the royal family. They are raised and live with normal people so that when it comes time for them to succeed the throne, they will properly understand the people of his or her nation. And because of this, her only grandfather was someone else's now. So, why did all those people die? What did her grandfather die for if everyone is concerned about the evil in Hamel. Did her grandfather die in vain? Coronet refuses to forgive Flute, because of her and her caring for Hamel, her resistance to being a princess... her grandfather died in vain. Clari moves up the stairs to Flute's room, but turns away. He returns to speak with Queen Horn. He wants to know if she's okay with Hamel and Flute's relationship - and she is. From a coffin in a cavern, Trom and Coronet poke their heads out from beneath the closed lid - escaping the tunnel. But... Clari's troops turn and recognize an exploding magic coming from Dalsegno. They set up a window to the region to find Coronet's shock wave dissipating. Coronet and Trom hide behind the tomb they crawled out of. The Mazoku troops had been waiting there for them. In the shadow, the troop of Mazoku soldiers are headed by Hamel. Percuss rushes in to get confirmation of Coronet's shockwave. Percuss orders troops to retrieve Trom but Clari tells him it's too late. The sun is rising. Queen Horn announces the beginning of the war the Sforzendo Magical Army is about to embark upon. The Mazoku objective: Pandora's Box... and to settle what was not finished 15 years ago. She marks it with a drop of her own blood. The main towers surrounding Sforzendo energize and the defense shield is established - the sun rises. *eye catch* The Sforzendo troops stand poised.... it is a repeat of 15 years ago. Drum and Guitar stand upon a dragon air ship surveying Sforzendo. Drum vows, that even though this feels like 15 years ago, this time Sforzendo will not see the sunset. Atop the highest mast stands Sizer, scoffing at Drum... perhaps it is he who will not see the sunset. She teases Drum that he has Death's shadow in his face. Drum reacts violently, aiming the onboard cannon at Sizer atop the mast and attempting to take her down; evidently crippling his own ship. The other's upon the adjacent Mazoku ships take the cannon fire as the signal to begin firing upon Sforzando. Sizer flies into the air laughing at Drum. Trom rushes through the forest back to Sforzando; he has to tell them what he and Coronet just saw. Coronet charges upon the Mazoku, using her own exploding magic to dispose of them as Trom rushes back to Sforzando. Not a single Mazoku shot penetrates the shield. The Mazoku who approach the castle are turned into stone; Queen Horn has resurrected a smaller version of her barrier around the castle - the best defense magic of the magical nation. The Mazoku continue to attack, but Drum takes a different approach - he jumps off his ship and lands upon the barrier. The barrier begins to weaken under him. The lightning storm of electricity surrounds Drum as he weighs down upon the barrier. Trom's heading to Sforzendo... the worst possible time. Something takes out Percuss' view of the approaching Trom. Clari tells Percus to drop the barrier. Clari heads up to a Sforzendo tower - once the barrier is dropped, the Mazoku will target and destroy the towers aligning the shield. Clari points out that they have to rescue Trom. Aside from that, the barrier will collapse soon regardless. From atop a Sforzendo tower, Clari calls up to Drum. He challenges the Dragon King to a 1 on 1, unless he preferred to stay atop the barrier. Drum is amused by the idea. In a low tone, Clari waits for Percuss to get the signal. Guitar orders the Mazoku troops to take out the barrier towers when the shield is dropped. Flute watches from her window as Clari summons the powers of other's to aid his own. The barrier is removed. Drum crashes to the ground below and the defense towers are immediately taken out. Percuss teleports away. Drum stands on the ground before Clari threatening to tear him to pieces. "HERE! Heavenly lightning, with mighty power, destroy the evil: Tenrin" And with that Clari funnels his powers through his staff and with a huge, glowing, power beam, he launches the powers at Drum. Drum is caught in the ensuing blast, completely dumbfounded. Clari funnels the power and it tears a path as far as the eye can see. He changes his grip and launches his powers towards the skies, incinerating all the Mazoku airships. Trom stops in his tracks as he sees a huge, white, glowing fireball bear down on him. But before he has time to do anything, Percus appears, grabs the prince, and teleports away again. All that can be heard is the smoldering of ashes... all that can be seen are the charred corpses left in Clari's wake. From beneath some rocks, Guitar emerges... shaken. Then he hears it... the violin. Clari's guards help the weakened Priest to the balcony. Raiel sits in shock at what he's hearing. Percuss and Trom watch from a distance as the Mazoku rise from the dead once again. Flute turns to Oboe wanting to know the melody. "This is a famous piece composed by the great symphonist, Gustav Mahler, about people's instinctive anguish and fate. The sixth symphony, Tragedy." And Hamel, is playing it for the Mazoku. Drum rises from the ground; energized once again. |
