| Introduction |
| I first found out about G.I.Zoku through buying and searching
for every little thing from Sotsugyou M [Graduation M] that I could get
my hands on. If you like Sotsugyou M, chances are you will like G.I.Zoku
also. The five main male characters attend the same high school as the
boys from Sotsugyou M. That is how they meet. G.I.Zoku has a bit more action
with some fantasy / supernatural elements thrown in. The best analagy I
can think of to give you an idea of what it is like would be the members
of Swartz from Weiß Kreuz joining the Fight Club. ^_^ [great movie

information] |
| There are 2 series that preceed G.I.Zoku: Graduation
and Graduation M.
++ Graduation: In
the life simulation game Sotsugyou ['Graduation'], the player becomes
a teacher, and guides five high school girls in their last year who each
have a some kind of problem. The goal of the game is to introduce a love
element to the girls and to help them eventually graduate. This game has
been made into an anime.
++ Graduation M:
The Lif Sim game Graduation was very popular in Japan, so a similar version
of the game with male students was realeased along with the radio drama
in 1995. This was "Graduation M". In the radio drama various events happen
between Mizuho Kusanagi [the student body chairman of the high school]
and the members of Graduation M which I am not going to get into here.
In the radio series, Kusanagi later employs G.I.ZOKU. The radio drama from
Graduation M has also been animated. |
| What is G.I.Zoku? |
| G.I.Zoku is a radio drama. As of yet there is not an
animated series. There are however a number of manga. |
| Why do you type GIZoku one time and
GIZOKU others? |
| GIZoku with the lower case refers to the seiyuu group
[voice actors] that make up the cast in the radio drama. GIZOKU refers
to the five main characters in the drama and is what they call themselves. |
| Where did the name GIZOKU come from? |
The 2 kanji that make up gizoku are: gi = sport &
zoku = rebel.
But, gi can also mean:
'deed; skill'
'lie; falsehood;
(logical) false; deception, `deceive', `pretend', `counterfeit', `forgery'
I am not sure though which of the kanji for gi is correct.^^;
And zoku can also mean:
'group,
tribe, family'
The hiragana reading for 'gizoku' can also mean "chivalrous
thief" |
