Kurai Cat > The Stor(m)ies > The Blue Flame...

It was a beautiful sunset as Shadow sat and watched Stormy and Stephi leave the house. Shadow curled up on the sun-lit windowsil where she lay every morning pondering her escape from this hellish place they call "Earth". She could never really understand why such a waste of space had ever been put here, along with those beings that refer to themselves as humans. Stormy had been with an odd one. Shadow knew that the only reason humans still existed was because of their superb ability to open cans, many of which loved their owners. Shadow had Floaty. Floaty didn't know it, but deep down inside Shadow longed to incinerate his body and steal his soul.

But she knew that Floaty served a much greater purpose then a human can opener. So she let him live through his miserable life on this planet. Shadow shifted in her warm place. She had felt the presence of Stormy long before he had entered the house. Stormy would be an adversary to The Cause. Shadow stood and went downstairs to think about who she was dealing with. Would Floaty help her or Stormy? She slowly levitated herself to the waterbowl and took the last licks of water she might ever have.

-------------

Stormy had just gotten back from Floaty's house with Stephi. He pranced along the sidewalk like a king towards the door. Stormy hardly noticed a glow behind the bushes, his usual place of practicing magic. As Stephi opened the door, she noticed the glowing light which was slowly getting stronger and stronger. "Dad," Stephi yelled, "you need to come fix the outdoor lights again!" Stormy laughed at her ignorance towards the now pulsating light. He walked over to see what it was.

Stormy was surprised at the sight. It was dark blue flame, in the shape of a paw, that was carving a message into the ground with it's finger: "Meeting at 9 for Kyouou (the Conspiracy) - meet in garage". Stormy pondered the notion of how this Conspiracy could be meeting in the garage without his knowledge, but he figured it was because of that evil drumset the intimidated and kept him away from that area.

Stormy lounged around the house, popping out the DVDs from their cases, crashing their computer as they tried to run Rollercoaster Tycoon, and fliping the channel on the TV to the Latin-Folk music station. He tried to take his mind off of this "meeting", but torturing the Chapman family didn't seem to help. So he went out back to play with Patty (Stephi's dog).

-------------

The Council sat and listened as Shadow tried to explain her reasoning to letting Stormy come to the meeting. "He will be loyal to Mokoteki (the Cause)," Shadow explained. "He cannot hurt us."

"How can you be so sure Shadow-sun," questioned Flame, the Commander in Chief.

"I just know him...I recieved a powerful vibe from him as he entered my house. Stormy might be a problem, but we can dispose of him."

"That is for us to decide, Shadow-sun. Now leave our presence."

As Shadow exited the room, a messanger brought a message in for Flame. It was from an informer. "What does it say," questioned the council.

"'Commander Flame, I must inform you that one of our members, Niji, is most likely a spy from somewhere else. He is against Mokoteki.'"

"Niji," mumbled one of the chaircats. "He must be the biggest nuisance we have."

"I suppose we could eliminate him," another said.

"I have a better idea," Flame responded. "We could kill two birds with one stone: Niji and Stormy. We will pair the two; Niji will be the escort of Stormy to the Underground. Then, they will be forced to dismantle each other; problemo solved." Flame left the room to send a message to Niji.

-------------

Niji was quietly resting when he heard a beep on his human's computer. He knew it must have been his e-mail, so he turned on the monitor (somehow) and he started to check his account (NijiCat@hotmail.com). Sure enough, he had recieved an email from the UCA, or Underground Cat Alliance, requesting his service: Dear Niji, We regret to inform you that you have been assigned to escort duty for Trainee Stormy. Meet him in the Garage at 2100 and lead him to the Underground. "Damn," Niji exclaimed. "This cat Stormy is really going to get in my way...I have to get rid of this pest!" Niji looked ay his watch. "Damn! 8:30. This has got to wait." Kiji set out to meet Stormy.

-------------

Stormy sat in the garage at home. Was this the right place? Stormy had to know. So he used his mighty deductive reasoning and phsycic abilities to pinpoint a location of furry bodies. But nothing came to him. Just as he was wondering what the hell was going on, Niji came in.

"So," Niji says slyly. "You must be Stormy."

"Yes," Stormy replied. "And who the hell are you?"

"I am Niji, and I am your escort lamer." Niji couldn't help but notice the odd resemblance in facial characteristics that they both shared. Even though Niji's fur color was white, he could of sworn Stormy was his twin brother.

"Lead the way." Stormy lifted his paw and from is first claw appeared a cantrip of light.

"Pretty sharp you weakling. Now, follow me."

Niji teleported to the location of the Underground. Stormy was slightly confused, but was soon disoriented and then found himself in a dark room. He drew flame from his paw, and looked around. Soon, he was surrounded by thousands of angry rats lookinh for fresh meat. He quickly took a look around, and saw a lifeless white furred body. Aperently, Stormy though, Niji wasn't as powerful as he appeared to be. Stormy thought quickly to ignite the room in flames, but that wouldn't do. Fire would also injure him. So, Stormy seemed completely helpless. "You bastards!" he screamed. Then, from head to tail, Stormy shot forth a mighty glow of light, which instantly engulfed the room into flames. Stormy blacked out.

-------------

When Niji had appered in the room, he had felt a presence but thought nothing of it. Just a rat or two. But thousands were beyond his imagination. He was jumped by only a few, but was soon torn apart by the many searching for flesh. In a last ditch effort, Niji pulled out his speical ruby, and began transfering his life force into it. He was then ripped to shreds by the rats as Stormy appeared.

Flame watched from a safe distanced. "Excellent," Flame purred. He hadn't seen such carnage since he watched "When Kitties Attack". He turned, and walked away from a very gory death.

Is that the end? - Baron
