The first of a huge lot of cels I picked up because I liked
a few of 'em. I'm crazy like that. I only scanned about 5 of them at first,
and ended up waiting ages before I got around to the rest.
I really like the colouring in this one. Such a very lovely shade of blue. |

When I got the lot of cels, I only saw about 6 of them, and had to
base my decision on that. I almost didn't go for it, since I
wasn't sure about spending so much money on them when I didn't know
what they all looked like, but there was a cel of this robot. My
roommate said he looked like a robo-Don Quixote. With
a comment like that, I couldn't resist. I really can see it, too.
He just looks adorable in this shot! |

Here's that same robot, I think. He looks mostly the same, but a little
different? I don't know anything about the series, I admit.
I also don't know much about mechs. I'm not really a big mech person, but I liked the designs for these. He looks so serious, eh? |

One more of our friend, Mecha Don Quixote. I'm not sure if this counts for mechs, since they're mechs, and it might be a little bit heavy on the personification, but he almost looks like he's got a far-away look in his eyes. Turning his face skyward, getting through some rough times, and waiting patiently for life to get better. Ok, so that is heavy on the personification, but it's just what the shot makes me think of. He's probably looking up at an incoming missile or something. |

This was one of the few cels pictured in the auction lot, and along with the DQ-bot,
it was reason enough for me to go for the whole batch. I really love the
colours in the cel, with the shadowy tones of purple and black, and how
the paler eyes really stand out. They almost look like they're glowing.
He's just got a really nifty design. This one (like several of the others, actually) was part of a sequence of cels. I only scanned the one initially, though. I also have a couple of him from a slightly farther shot that shows off a bit more. I like it. He looks like he'd be a badguy-mech. |

Well, I finally got around to scanning all the rest of my Cyberstar cels! And
it turned out I was mistaken -- it seems the dealer threw some extras into the
batch, but I never bothered counting. I ended up with over 90 cels from
the series. Goodness me. Nifty looking mech. This series seems to be all about the nifty-looking mechs. |

Yep, here he is again. I can foresee problems to come. I'm already running out of generic statements to make about these cels and I've got 80-some to go. Be afraid. Be very afraid. |
![]() (FO) | It's our black and purple mech friend again! This time, sans eyes. I prefer the glowy eyes. (But then, that's why I scanned that one about a year before I finally managed to get this one scanned.) |

It's my Don Quixote mech again! I really like this mech. He must be the main
...er...mech-character. I got more cels of him than anyone, and whenever cels from
this series pop up for sale, they're frequently of him. He's pretty, isn't he? |
![]() (FO) | And another which is presumably from the same sequence as the cel way up above. He's looking wistful again. As much as a robot without facial expressions can, in any case, look wistful. His design seems to shift around a bit, depending on who the animator is and how much detail they feel like doing. |
