My first cel of Larva. Whether it'll be my last or not remains to see.
I really like Larva, so I hope to get more, but with competition as it is,
and so many other interests to spend my money on, it doesn't look like it'll
happen any time soon. While many people seem not to like profile shots, I tend to be rather fond of them, so long as they're well-drawn. I love the art in this shot, as well as the rosy lighting. |

(FO) | The main character, Akira. I've not seen the anime, and while I own one of the games, I haven't played it in ages. Regardless, I didn't get the cel for him...I got it for that super-adorable little critter sitting on his shoulder. It's just so cute! I love fuzzy little animals, and Alexander the squirrel is both cute and fuzzy. |

The cel of the Chicken-Clutcher... This one was purchased mainly because I couldn't
pass it up after the sheer number of lewd jokes my roommate made about it.
That, and it's just hilarious in a really odd way. I don't know why that person is so frightened, or why they're hugging a chicken...but it's just perfect, it is. This cel was -very- kindly IDed...but due to internet/e-mail problems, I lost the ID. Egh. I feel horrible. Using my poor memory coupled with research, I believe this was IDed as Liu, the series villain, in a flashback to youth. If the kindly person who first IDed this could reconfirm, I would be *most* appreciative. (Feel free also to give me a swift kick in the rear for being such a doofus.) |

(FO) | A cel of Jouchiro I picked up early in my cel-collecting days, more to build up the collection than anything. It was a good price, and I like the odd angle of the shot. Also, my first cel of a character with a gun, and I believe my first cel of a character with any sort of weapon. |

An adorable little cel of Nagi! He's just....so....cute.
Indeed, it's hard to think of him as a bad sort, just because...well, he's too adorable for that to be possible. No, he needs to be cuddled and given a lolli. |
![]() (FO) | My very first X cel; I admit, I hadn't figured I'd ever get one o' these, and especially not Hinoto. But, I'm a sucker, and though you sadly cannot see her lovely eyes (although the dark scan and reduced size makes that whole region appear much darker and indistinct than it truly is,) it shows off her lovely hair very nicely, as well as her outfit. As with all X movie cels, it's oversized, but I crammed it into my usual thumbnail size. Doesn't do it justice, sadly. |

Hmm... Rawr?
All right, to remember the story of this cel... I was in something of an ill mood on the day slated for a Chaos update; I didn't really think I'd bother watching it at all, and even forgot about the update as the time drew closer. However, I popped into the cel IRC chat, and on hearing others discussing the sale, a small spark of interest was awakened. When the time came, I was looking throughs with everyone else in the chat, browsing the new cels as each page was updated. As the CCS section was updated, I saw one cel I quite liked and I even put in an order for it before the update had been finished. I didn't really suspect I would get it, but I thought it was worth a shot. Eventually came the X update... I hadn't been interested in the previous batch of "hanken test cels." Even so, the ones in this update were quite beautiful, and I watched as they went up and the images were activated. There were several with which I was especially impressed, with the Hinoto at the top of the group. I can't say how long it was before I put the order in, but it felt as though the cels had already been up for a while. I had absolutely no expectations of getting it; it was really just a token attempt. The attempt made so I would have no regrets when I lost out. I got Nick's reply to my first email, saying that I didn't get the CCS cel; he mentioned seeing my order addition, but that he would reply about it later. The CCS cel was the only one I had any hopes of getting, so I considered it a bust. It had improved my mood, anyway, and so I was happy with the outcome; I even went to put in an order for an update that Asylum had that same evening. Then I got the reply -- Hinoto was mine. I was sick with excitement. It really was a complete surprise. The next day, I got my confirmation on the Asylum cel (my second Shishio,) and I could not have been happier. I still consider it one of my luckiest nights. Oh, and...RAWR. Byootifulness. Heart-heart-luv-luv. 5/15/11 - As you can see from the scan, many of the lines in her hair are pretty light, though none of them appear faded/brown. It only appears to be involving the really thin linework used for detail, particularly in her hair, which made me wonder whether it looked this way initially due to light strokes/weak trace line printing during initial production, or if there's actually fading going on. The bolder outlines look fine, but there's almost a complete loss of linework at the top of her hair. Comparing to the scan I made when I first got this cel (11/03), it looks exactly the same, so it doesn't seem to be a progressive loss. There is a little bit of line fade/browning in the gold-painted areas - her hair ornament and the bells on her shoulders. No paint damage or creases. |

Ayaka Kisaragi, of Yuugen Kaisha/Phantom Quest Corp. It was such a short
series, but lots of fun. Likely as a result of the brevity of the series, I've
not had an easy time finding many cels from the series. The few Ayaka
cels I've seen have been very pricey, and not very great shots of her. I was
quite pleased to find this one at a reasonable rate, and I love the expression.
Now if only I could find a cel of the Teacup-Vampire. |

(FO) | Another cel purchased early on, when I was already buying something else. I'll probably get rid of some of these little things, eventually, but I find myself attached to everything, no matter how small.. And, of course, I'm determined to put up every cel I've got, no matter what it is. |
