Even before I got into anime, I had a long history of getting crushes on
animated men that relatively few other people found attractive. This was one of my biggest
crushes, Cobra Commander, the wonderfully evil villain of G.I. Joe. (Ok, so
I'm not afraid to admit it -- I still have the hots for him. He's
dead sexy.)
I missed out on an update with several CC cels some time back (anybody
remember when I panicked and started taking offers on my collection, then had to
rescind? Yeah, that was the time.) Oh, did I ever sulk, pout, whine, and generally
be miserable. ...Then came the next update, and I managed to snag this beauty. Oh,
how I did celebrate. Yes, this is one of my favourite cels. Oh, how I love it.

Not one, but two Sunbow cels of bad ol' CC, now. YAY!
This is one of the cels from the original update, that I missed out on. In fact, it's
the cel I wanted most out of all of those updated back then. I ended up having to pay
a rather inflated price for it, upon buying it from the private collector that purchased
it in the first place. I came very close not to buying, since I felt the inflation
unjustified...but my love for the cel won out in the end. It is utterly beautiful.
I love it. My most expensive cel as of his purchase, and still one of my more expensive
purchases, but I love him no less for
it. (It isn't your fault, now is it, my precious? *pet-pet-stroke* That's right,
my precious...)

A DIC-era cel of bad ol' CC, purchased a long time back, just to tide myself over
because I thought I'd never get a cel of him from the original Sunbow series.
Well, I proved myself wrong, and am I ever gleeful.
The DIC stuff was so gaudy
and annoying compared to the original. Still, I like epaulets.
5/15/11 - The cel has no apparent line fade and is in excellent condition. The unstuck sketch has a couple of tiny "watermark" like spots in the upper right corner, but no other damage.

This cel cracks me up! Scarlett, versus...a Fatal Fluffy! Oh, dear.
Darling as Cobra Commander is, and as much as I adore him...he's really
one messed up guy. (Not that it's a bad thing, of course.)
The Fatal Fluffies
were one of the most hair-brained ideas ever. I can't look
at this without laughing.

Very cool, rather creepy cel of Shipwreck strapped up and hallucinating, from the
'There's No Place Like Springfield' two-parter. While I wasn't much for the good guys,
generally speaking, Shipwreck was always one of my favourite Joes. For as little CC
as there was in the two-parter, I still quite enjoyed it. It was one of the better
stories, and had some good character development.
I was utterly pleased, not
to mention surprised, to have the good fortune to get this cel for a bargain price.
