He's a doggie with a newspaper, and he's just so dapper! That was really all it took
for me to get it; does one need anything more than that?
Thanks goes to Ryo for setting me in the right direction, and Keys for the definitive ID. This one's from Meitantei Holmes, also called Sherlock Hound. I kept an eye out for this cel when I was watching the series, but I never found it. I found a couple scenes in which I was really expecting to see it, and even one shot that looked somewhat similar, but not quite. Hm. |

Well, it was only a matter of time before I came around to hunting down cels from
this series. ^_^ A bunch of dogs acting out stories based on one of my favourite
series of novels? It couldn't be a better match.
And indeed little could be a better match than Moriarty himself! @.@! As...a cute purple doggie with a monocle and a top hat.. Hot damn. Love that wicked expression.. From the "Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle" episode, one of the six episodes written/directed by Miyazaki. |

A bit of a whim purchase, but...I couldn't resist.. XD So silly...so...gold.
One of the gaudiest cels I own. XD I love it. This thing is genuinely painful to look at in person. Oh, my friggin' eyes. From the episode, "Treasure Under the Sea." Another of the Miyazaki episodes; this one was a great deal of fun. |

Moriarty and company, once more.
I must stop and say how thrilled I am to finally have more cels from this show. I went through a long dry period, and was starting to give up all hope when I managed to land a whole batch from various sources. This particular shot comes from the "Treasure Under the Sea" episode again. I certainly can't complain, as I loved that episode. Moriarty was not so amused by Watson's little greeting. ^^ I love the pink submarine! Too bad you can only barely see Todd. |

This one came in a pair with the above cel.
Looks a bit odd due to the missing layer, but I love it anyway. Also from the "Treasure Under the Sea" episode. Here Moriarty is keeping an eye on the British Navy -- and more specifically, on the heavy artillery. |

A most adorable shot of Moriarty and Smiley; still need to place this one.
I absolutely love the expressions. Super cuteness. I really feel like I should know the scene... They're flying around somewhere, anyway. |

Awesome shot of Moriarty! I cannot for the life of me remember where this cel comes from in the
series. (Must rewatch. Oh,
what a task that'll be. ^.~ )
I have a feeling the background may not be matching, which could also be confounding my ability to place it... Either way, Moriarty's super spiffy and packing heat! ...I find it hard to think of him as dangerous in any way, but it seems he's trying to prove me wrong. |

From the last episode on the DVDs -- So depressing! ;.; Why did it have to end!
I wanted another season! -- "Goodbye,
Holmes! The Last Case," aka, "The Missing Bride Affair."
There were some rather disappointing episodes in the latter half of the series, and at one point I was almost ready to give up watching. I'm rather glad I didn't, as the episodes picked up again toward the end. I did enjoy this episode. Many episodes weren't really mysteries so much as adventures. This one felt closer to the Doyle novels than most, while still keeping the warm, light-hearted tone one would expect from this incarnation. Oh, and lest I forget -- Moriarty was great in this episode. Hee. |

The "lovable" little thief from the Blue Carbuncle episode.
I'm not saying I disliked her...but I didn't find her particularly likable, either. She was amusing enough, and fairly cute, but she got on my nerves in the way most little kids in shows do. It seems she was quite popular in Japan, though. Cels of her tend to go for more than almost any other character I've seen -- even more than Mrs. Hudson! O.O I snagged this one off Nick's site in the misc. category, just 'cause it was there, and the price was right. Skipping along, after swiping the gem that Moriarty stole. Poor Moriarty. |

Another of Moriarty and his adorable henchman, Smiley. ^^ Puppies!
I loved Moriarty's hunched-up pose in this shot.. It probably sounds like an odd observation, but that's really what drew me in with this cel the most. It's a shame he's half-hidden, but I love the way he's drawn in this shot that more often than not I don't even notice that. ^^; (Alas, though, it's the monocle side that is obscured!) From one of my absolute favourite episodes, and another of the Miyazaki ones, "Mrs. Hudson is Taken Hostage." Moriarty tries so hard to be dangerous and menacing, but just ends up adorable and sweet. Aww. Note the messy, filthy bachelor pad. ^^ |

A great shot of the solid gold statue from the episode, "Did You See the Big Shining Thief?"
aka "The Golden Statue of the
Great Burglar." Moriarty decides to build a giant statue from pure gold...a statue of himself, dedicated to himself. Not entirely modest, but who could blame him? ;) He looks good in gold. Alas, it's covered in Lestrade's men; poor Moriarty is destined to lose again. |
