A cel of Karamaru was a long-time wishlist item, and I'd really given
up hope on ever getting one. I'm glad I was proven wrong. I'm not sure if the background's matching, but it's quite possible; it really looks the stuff. Isn't he just adorable, here? I think he must be gloating, and/or laughing like a maniac. |

Another one of him, almost certainly laughing like the delightful little
nutcase he is. Really, now, it was just meant to be! He's a crow (my favourite type of bird,) he's a bad guy, a ninja, a swordsman, and he's got nifty armour. All things considered, how could I possibly not like him? He's got so many elements I like in a character (much like a certain evil, canine, anthropomorphic swordsman I love so much.) |

And another! Because he's just so adorable, I can't resist 'em.
I liked Karamaru right off the bat. He's just so cool, and...he's a little birdie. I'll never get over that. The whole idea of the series is just so very screwy. |
![]() | Probably having words with the good guys before he jumps into a fight. He looks to be reaching for his sword. Of course, no fight can start without the usual trading of insults. It's just tradition! |
![]() | Another! Yes, I really like Karamaru (Bad Bird in the US version.) I loved how the series was so completely wacky and off the wall, but had such nice character development and growth. This was lrdd emphasized in the US version, where they went for all-out wackiness. But it was still fun. |

Karamaru in disguise! Not a very good disguise, mind you, but it fools the heroes,
and that's all that really matters. People in anime and cartoons aren't very bright.
The disguises worn are never even slightly convincing, yet everyone buys
into them completely. You'd think, after about the twentieth time your worst enemy shows
up in a new hat and fake moustache that someone might catch on.
...But no, it never does happen that way. The sketch is fun -- Karamaru's all on one layer, except for his beak and the shine on his glasses; as such, he's all done in black except those features, which are in red. They give him a little...stubby neck with no head in the black part of the sketch. There's also a lot more writing on the script in the sketch version (also in red) but it didn't appear in the show itself. |

Aww..! Poor Karamaru. He doesn't look at all pleased to be dressed up as Sukashi.
Honestly, his boss is a nutcase. Regardless, he looks incredibly adorable with little cat ears. And the parasol... I remember a time when I thought I'd never find any cels of Karamaru - now I've even got cels of him in odd costumes! I'm so excited! |

Look, it's Bad Bird's CLEVER DISGUISE.
Why, who would ever guess it was him under there, just because he sounds exactly the same and looks the same -- aside from a different outfit and a fake moustache -- and honestly, who would believe a penciled-in moustache on a bird anyway? Well, apparently our heroes would. It's certainly a cute outfit, anyway. Hee. Pink glasses. |

Once again, Karamaru manages to pull off an impeccable disguise. It's simple
enough; a pair of swirly glasses and a cloth on the head, and one is rendered
unrecognizable, even to people they see all the time. Really. Try it. Let
me know how it goes. I love that you can still see part of the helmet under the head wrap. It is such a ridiculous disguise. |
