Neato cel of Shutell from Sarutobi's flashback, in episode 12.. To say much more
would be spoilery. ^^;; I love the lighting for this cel, though -- nighttime, illuminated by fire.. Gulden's such a bastard, but I love him. |

Hello, world. This is Dark Knight Shutell's HAND! Hello, hand.
Can you tell I write these descriptions very late at night, and all at once, so that my mind is all fuzzy-like? Well, the truth it be. Shutell looks like he has a skirt on, the way his armoury-bits are billowing, here. Regardless, he most certainly has got a hand. A hand! |

After getting hit with everything the heroes had, about six times over, Gulden
finds that the heroes start coming up with all sorts of new attacks just for him.
Isn't that thoughtful of them? From the conclusion of episode 27, the end of the first major story arc, Gulden and Shutell take a hit from Adeu's brand-spankin' new Meteo Zapper attack. Obviously, not so good for Shutell's paint job.. |

Unlike so many shots of the mechs, this cel was fantastically easy to ID. ^_^ I
need more stuff like that. Hah! From episode 38, the only time Shutell glows bright green. I found this part rather interesting, as it calls into question the exact nature of the Seirei Seki. Everyone seems to need to get their own specific stone, yet here Sarutobi's works for Gulden? Perhaps you have to have your own to draw upon the full power of the stone, but it will have some limited effect for any Ryuu pilot? (It might help if I could understand more of the dialogue, rather than just scraping by.. e.e;) |

Nicely detailed shot of Shutell glaring over his shoulder ominously.. Oooh,
spoooooky. I like how it shows off his li'l eye. ^^ The Ryuu have such human eyes.. Beyond which, they're able to react on their own, and seem capable of making conscious decisions.. Indeed, they seem to be sentient creatures, in their own way. Most interesting.. |

Shutell comes plopping in. PLOP.
Okay, so plop may not be the most appropriate word, but whatever. Shutell comes dropping in, ready to cut someone up. Cut 'em up so bad...so bad.. ...that they're going to wish he hadn't cut them up so bad. That's right. Admire the gorgeous blood-blister that is Shutell's cockpit entry. |

Neato closeup of Shutell. Looking at him from this angle...it looks like the red piece under there is the bottom half of his "face" and the big pointy bluish bit is just an extra attachment...like a prosthetic beard or something. (Okay, so maybe it's more like a piece of armour, but it looks like a silly jaw-beard thing.) Funny I never really noticed that before. It totally changes how I look at him when I'm not thinking of the bluish toothy part as his face... |

...Now I'm stuck thinking over this whole "which part is the real face part?" issue.
...It's probably a sign that I should get more hobbies. Boy, my back hurts. Err...This is actually a really nice cel of Shutell, too. I like this one. Unfortunately, it really shows off the stupid "smudges" my scanner is creating on all my scans. |

Gut-punch!
I love how it looks like Shutell's eyes are opened wide, from the surprise/pain. The Ryuu get a lot of silly expressions in the manga; it would've been cute if they'd done that in the anime, though I guess I can see why they didn't. Perhaps a bit too silly, even. |

Poor little robot. ;.;
He's not a bad robot. He's just...misguided. Yeah. I really do like Shutell's design. He's probably the neatest looking of all the standard Ryuu; one can almost take him seriously, despite his stature. |

It is Shutell! Admire his pointy beard of doom! ...Okay, now the yellow things 'round his underarms are reminding me of Tare Panda. ...Poor Shutell. My mind is destroying your pure image of Wee Creepiness. |

And one, and two, and reach, and stretch! Feel the burn, ladies!
...Poor Shutell. I really do love you. Pretty keen action shot of our resident Mr. Creepy Ryuu; I like his sword. Sword is neat. Do you feel the burn yet, Shutell? |
