Story:

Marco is a young boy, who lives in Genova at the end of the 19th century. Italy was then in depression, and his mother had to leave to find a job in Argentina. But after a while, she stops sending any letter to her family stayed at home. Marco, who is very anxious not to hear anything about his mother, decides to set of in search of her, and to go alone in Argentina. The series is the chronicle of the boy's journey.

personal comments:

I have never seen the series, but I have often heard about it! It's said to be an anime with an intense atmosphere and one of the best WMT ever done. No need saying I wish to have the opportunity to watch it one day...

3000 Leagues in Germany and Austria:

In Germany, the series has been broadcasted on ZDF and TV München; in Austria, it was on ORF. The new German opening has been released on a CD with some other German anime songs.

3000 Leagues in Italy:

The series is broadcasted on the RAI channels every now and then. Last times were in 1999 (April-June and August-October). Marco has an Italian opening, made on pictures coming from various episodes of the series.
