Story:

Perrine is the daughter of a half Indian mother and a French father. Just before dying, the later asks his wife to come back to his natal village of Marauxcours. The trip that Perrine and her mother make in a caravan is quite painful: they lack money and have good reasons to fear the way they'll be received when they arrive...

Personal comments:

Once again a series I haven't seen, and I can't tell many things about. At least, the original novel is rather good and has all the elements of a successful WMT screenplay. It is BTW one of the darkest meisaku ever done, and it's thus quite different from the ones that will follow it. From Anne, and until My Annette, NA will indeed make series with more light hearted atmospheres... The few pics I have seen from Perrine give me fears about the quality of its character design (it's the same thing with Rascal, BTW). But I need to watch some eps to tell more about this.

Perrine in Germany and Austria:

In Germany, the series was shown on ZDF and TV München. In Austria, it was broadcasted on ORF 1 (last time on June July 1999). The German opening is interpreted by Katja Ebstein. The series also has a closing song intitled "Das Hund Baron" (The Dog Baron). Both are available on a CD.

Perrine in Italy:

The Italian version has a opening song sung by Giorgia Lepore.
