Story:

Anne is an orphan girl who comes to the Cuthberts family, who lives in "Green Gables", a Canadian farm. But the orphanage sent her by mistake: the Cuthberts indeed wanted to adopt a boy, who could have helped them in their work on the farm. However, they grow to like Anne, and decide to keep her with them.

Personal comments:

I have never seen the series, but it's one of the most popular WMT in Japan (among with the others Takahata directed). Note that the character design was made by the late Yoshifumi KONDO (director of Mimi wo sumaseba), and that the story seems to be rather shôjo...
