You have now the opportunity to express yourself and to vote for your favourite WMT. I just ask you not to vote if you haven't seen more than 2 or 3 of them: it wouldn't be representative. You can vote for your 3 favourite meisakus, but you can just choose 1 or 2 of them if you wish. 5 points will be credited to the first one, 3 pts to the second, and 1 pt to the third. Don't forget to let me know your name and your e-mail address (if you've got one, of course): I'll send you a confirmation message before publishing your vote. You can also re-vote, if you change your point: just send me a mail in that case. Do not hesitate to fill in the comments section: I'm looking forward your opinion.

Michael Unverzagt: I must confess, Sara can´t be toped (even not by Little Women ;-) ). The thirt nomination stands for one among many others i liked.
Taro Rehrl: You can read about my impression of my first choice on Ben Ettinger's WMT-page in the ratings section. ^_^ For the other choices, there were several candidates. The main character in Katri is a bit weaker than in Marco or Little Women, but I'm heavily biased towards Katri due to it's excellent BGM. Some of the pieces even reach Sara-quality. Sorry, no more place for Little Women left, but I wanted to mention at least one of the former unnamed titles and Marco is the best of the "old" series and very beautiful overall.
Dennis Hirschmann:Hmm, although many people seem to really dislike Nan & Mrs. Jo, I still think this series is great! I like it's characters and their relationships alot. Bush Baby was IMO one of the most enjoyable adventure-series I've seen, and Family Robinson... wellm, a childhood favourite of mine! :)
Sayaka Takano: Everybody seems to be voting for Sara, and I must agree that it was great. But I just love the story of daddy-long-legs and meisaku gekijyou did a great job on it, too. And Romeo, I just adored those characters and every episodes. It was somewhat sad, but it was good. And Sara is just something you have to vote.
Yabuchan: Hi!I came and signed on this. ^_^ Well I explain why like the 3WMTs I selected.
1st: Sara Crewe is so pretty and she is so very
storng because she always bully miss Minchin
and her any classmates and her boss of maid.
If I is her, I cannot bear so I may get out...
I'm always impressed her strongness heart.
2nd: Pollyanna is so fine and boyish girl. But
she is noisy little.^_^; She is strong, too.
So I like this.
3rd: Katri is very kind girl and she is dutiful
toward her parents. Then she always work so hard.
I'm impressed.
Goeff Cowie: I've seen episodes of more than half the WMT anime. Little Women is a delight, and I got very fond of Anne Shirley. The above three I have watched daily from sat.broadcasts.
Claudio Araya A.: Heidi is charming story of love & sweetness.
Marco was a excellent drama, Mr Takahata know very well how exposed the soul.
sorry I just watched Heide & Marco, now I have a dog of flanders last movie but japanese raw ( if any person can help thanks ).
from Chile
Claudio
Ayamitsu Sanada: I think "Marco" is one of the best TV animation series in general (not within WMT).
"Craigso":
I am looking for the background music soundtrack of the little princess Sara. Do you know by what means I can buy it. CD or even tape is OK. Do you know any information? If yes, would you please tell me cos I have been looking for such for years but still I cannot get it.
Thank you very much.
Sadly, Nippon Animation hasn't released Sara's soundtrack. Hopefully in the future...
Benjamin Ettinger:People can hear me fulminate about Marco on my WMT page, so I won't do it here. :) I guess Takahata makes the daily drama of this genre come alive for me more than anybody else, and that's why I chose Marco and Heidi. (In the case of Marco, there are other reasons -- I think it's overall the most perfect anime tv series I've ever seen.) The naturalism of Rascal is what makes it so magnificent a series to me, odd character designs notwithstanding.
Sunstar: Nanatsu forever!
Kenji Hatayama: Hi.I'm a WMT fan like everybody who voted for favorite WMT.
I like everything of WMT's anime, but in my opinion Little Princess Sara is the
best story.
Recently,I could re-watch Sara.So I was deeply impressed by the Sara's
attitude.
I hope Little Princess Sara will rerun in many countries once more.I'm sure it
will be more popular in the world.
I'd like to conclude my comments by wishing WMT will be popular more and more.
bye.
Nicoletta: Alfredo is one of the best characters of all animes and he gave me strong feelings. Little men is one of my favourite books and the anime is good too, though little less effective. Kathy has a wonderful atmosphere.
Luca Signorelli: Heidi is simply one of the great masterpieces of TV storytelling, and Anne & Marco are right behind. What else can I say: Isao Takahata is a genius, and I feel sorry for all the poor bastards that think that to make an "art" cartoon you should make it boring and dull,
Jim:Little Women brings me nostalgic feeling... It's the anime which "forced" me read
the full version of the novel, and also induced me study Japanese in later days.
It's character settings is the most appealing point for me. The four sisters owns different personality and they have different colours of dresses too! It's a pity that the dress have only summer and winter styles... -_-; Also, it's refreshing that there's no clear cut on bad guys and good guys.
For Little men... Nan's personal experience wrote ones feeling/struggle when becoming adulthood. Also there are many touching scenes, too. What a pity that it mentioned only a little about Beth's death. Little men (anime) would be a perfect sequel to Little Women (anime) if the producer put more effort relating to the former one.
Romeo's blues skies... It's BGMs are great. Also Angeletta's too! It makes me think of renewed version of Beth - with almost the same personality to each other!
Marco Boffini: I think that "Romeo's blue sky" is the best masterpiece of the WMT. The story is never boring, the music is wonderful (if you have the possibility to find the CDs, buy them!), and the art and the animation are of a high quality. I adore the main character, that is Romeo, and his friend Alfredo.
Peter Stadlmaier: "Die singende Familie Trapp" ("The Story of the Trapp Family") shows great knowledge auf Austria.
Marco: very well designed and the most beautiful music of every meisaku! I think the italian translation is very good! I think that this meisaku can give a lot both to children and to adults(I'm 23 years old but I keep on watching it!)I would like to know where can I find the lyrics(it's impossible for me to connect to the web pages you have listed!)Thank you very much for the answer you will give me!
Ayanami: I like Jo March ^_____^
SeigoXIII: The choice of "Anne" and "Perrine" seems good. How can you miss them?
Motoki: ´Lölä!!
I´m from austria and since my cjildhood i watch meisakus. My first was Niklaas (Dog of..), then came Heidi and some other ones. But the first meisaku i really lioked to wach was the Trappfamily, because the story tekes place in my country. Little Men´s my all-time-favourite.
Martin Lux: I don't have what I can speak. Tico is a good serie from WMT which was broadcast in Czech republic, because it has quite nice story...
Ana: Pollyanna, the best
mrormrk@lycos.com: The nippon animation "Little Princess Sara" is the greatest movie that I have encountered throughout my whole life rather than I have known and watched AFI's Top Notcher: "Citizen Kane" and even my favorite sci-fi future "Space Oddesey: 2001". Note that, I have watched so many films even foreign ones; and, this one is outstanding unbeatable perfection of a film. It contains the most realistic expressionisms that every film has expressed in renaissance mode.
Giorgio Hullweck: Akage no An is a beatiful serie!!!!!!!!
The musics, the drawings and the carachters make Akage no An the most accurate japanese serie!!!!
The landscapes seem pictures!!!I LOVE LOVE LOVE AKAGE NO AN!!!!!!!
John Co: I love Princess sara SOOOOOOOO much. I first saw it when I was 9 years old, that time I watched it about 6 whole times, I never saw it again on tv when I was 10 years old. After 6 years I saw it again and started to watch it just like before. I like Proncess Sara not ony because of it's story but also because of beautiful, angel like, gorgoeus face of Sara!, and also it's a 100% masterpiece. secondly Little Prince Cedie I also watched this series when I was a kid, it has a very nice story, a good animation and a very touching drama, Lastly The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, I just saw this series 3 years ago and watched it twice and became one of my favorite, This has a very good and funny story line, and a very inspiring adventures by Tom and his friend Huck. This series is nice to watch
Blackbird: I think "Family Robinson" was my first WMT that I saw in Japan, but this didn't catch my attention because I was little then. I loved Morton-san -- a drunk sailor who saved Robinson family from the island.
After I saw a 1995 movie, "A Little Princess," I was attracted to the story. I purchased the LD box of WMT "Little Princess Sara" later, and loved it! After that, I read the original novel and saw other "A little Princess" -- Shirley Temple as Sara and Amelia Shankley as Sara.
The most favorite WMT is "Pollyanna" for me. I saw a re-run of "Pollyanna," and I was hooked to the story. Now, I am gathering all the "Pollyanna" related works -- movies (Hayley Mills and one made in England), the original novel, and of course WMT "Pollyanna" on DVD! I love Pollyanna's motto "find something to be glad about!"
jose M. Rivera: Great series!!!
TASUKU: I am japanese who loves World Masterpiece Theater. I'm very glad to know that there are lots of WMT funs all over the world.
Bobo: I loved Romeo's Blue Sky the most . I think it was the best story and anime that I have ever seen or read . And I loved Alfredo the most .
Alfons Moliné: It was a pleasure for me to vote for the WMT anime series! (I am an animator and a writer on manga and anime as well!)
"Trapp Family" is one of my very japanimation favourites. The backrounds reproduce very faithfully the Austrian landscape, and the character design is top-notch. Also, Maria and the Trapp children are real personalities who show warmth and true emotions, they are not mere "cartoon" characters. Above all, a fine example of animation craftsmanship and good taste.
"Anne of Green Gables" shows a heroine who is absolutely not the "cute girl" type so common in non-japanese animation. It shows a girl who is in the process of growing up and discovering the world around her, and learning to appreciate the beauty of simple things around her.
"Heidi" is, simply, a classic, and one which put Japanese animation on the map of Europe. I still recall when it was first aired in my country, Spain, exactly 25 years ago. Spanish children -and grownups, too- becaume hooked on the adventures and misadventures of the Swiss little girl. I bet that, during thoso times, many schoolchildren gave the nickname of "Fraulein Rottenmeier" to teachers who were particularly strict or bad-tempered to them.
Edwin S. Juen Jr.: The story of little princess Sara caught my attention because of her strong and her heartwarming characteristics. Inspite of all her suffering and struggles in life, she didn't lost her hope but instead it made even stonger and wiser. She showed love to those who persecuted her proving that she never hated anyone. Because of her goodness and obedience to God, the Lord has blessed her in return. Her story portrays a true christian character. Remi Nobody's Girl's story for me is like, as if, God has did it on purpose for her to suffer that kind of agonizing fate to teach her everything about life's misery and for her to learn to face reality. And in the middle of the story she was found working with this group of orphans living in fear to thier master. She empowered them in times of depression and hopelessness. She kept herself strong, showed no weak reaction and acted of good cheer because she knows that her friends might get discouraged if she would show agony. In the end, again, the Lord blessed her wi th a mother and a brother together with their wealth. And she become like a messiah to the orphans because her mother adopted the kids putting them in a pleasant state which made the ending of the story happy. I have chosen her story to be more better than Sara's story because she suffered child labor and physical abuse from her antagonist, While Sara suffered child labor only. Remi's series showed a real violent physical abuse for children that really caught my attention. Romeo's Blue Skies's story taught me more important facts in life as a man.If I could remember it correctly This character never showed any tears because of his unpleasant fate. And his friend Alfred has also a lot of contribution for the story's success. Their story of friendship is like David and Jonathan's. It's a long story to describe but I know you all have watched it. They showed what many characteristics of what should every man be.
Kevinia Cheung: DLL is my all-time favorite!.
Ali Irshad: I am an Arabian who likes World Masterpiece Theater. I'm very glad to know that there are lots of WMT fans all over the world. I hope everyone to enjoy watching these animated WMT's!!
Alessandro: simply great
lucy: Love little women. Literary Classic. It's really awesome. I admit that I am a little biased because I love the book too. Little Princess Sara was also really cool. And Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite books and the anime is good too.
Mohammad Al Zubaidy: Best anime ever made. From my point of view it tells the story of the creation and rise of a workers union made up of children and how they unite to face this cruel world and fulfill their dreams under the guidance of Alfredo and his successor Romeo. By all means a revolutionary anime with revolutionary concepts. I didn't write any titles in the 2nd and 3rd places because I think there is more than one title that fits in these two places. I didn't want to be unfair.
A. Merdon: WMT! *___*
Frederick Wilson: I seen the entire series for Swiss Family Robinson and Romeo's Blue Skies and seen the Dog of Flanders movie, WMT touches me in a way no other anime series touches me, very realistic, very powerful and emotional, makes other animes look like cartoons.
Gerto: Hallo everybody. As you can see below A voted for:
I.Little Princess Sara:I liked Sara very much after I saw WMT-story for the first time, but I fell in love with her after I read original story.
Everybody that saw or read the story know what I mean. I sought the book everywhere,I found it on internet(Project Gutemberg) and printed it.
II.Daddy Long-Legs:I never saw complete WMT-story, because it was stopped after 20 episodes in german TV. The story was very interesting and it end with printed book again. I also printed another story called Dear enemy. It is continuance of the Daddy Long-Legs and I think it is better. Dear Enemy had strange side effect, because I began to like Sallie McBride much more than Judy.
III. Little Women. This story is so full of life, that it almost make me sad. I like Elizabet most.
Alexandra: I have to say that all of these WNt are a very important part of my childhood, but Anne.. what can I say? It always brings a smile to my face when I think of her. I've been trying to get the episodes in video or DVD for some time... anyone knows where I can get them? (not in japanese)
Baron no kimoti: Perrine is my BEST!! Why dont't you see Perrine ! It's incredible that you pass Perrine!!
Ary: I love Nippon Animation! :)
akari84@hotmial.com: Just the best !!!!!
Rouba: + Perrine , Daddy Long-Legs , Lucy of the Southern Rainbows. Y aren't there anymore of such great animations nowadays?
