Broken Bow Chapter Two

Chapter Two: Crossfire Blades

A few days had passed since Kyra arrived at the Koji mansion. She looked out the window and headed downstairs, where everyone was. Cye was cooking, and everyone was helping themselves to the delicious breakfast that he made. She headed to the table and sat between Anubis and Rowan. She started grabbing toast, butter, fruit, and several other things. “Are you gonna eat all that?”

“Yes, Dais. And no, you can’t have any.” Anubis watched her with an amused look. It was rare when Kyra ate so much. ‘Then again, she doesn’t use her full power.’ He thought. He blinked and looked at her plate. Empty. Everyone’s mouth dropped when they saw it. All Kyra said was; “ You’re a really good cook, Cye.” And took her plate to the dishwasher, and went upstairs.

Sage headed outside to train, his no-datchi glinting in the sunlight. After practicing a few combos, he got the impression that he was being watched. He turned around to see Kyra wielding a no-datchi and dressed in Samurai Robes. Sage took note that the garments were expertly designed for battle. Where the sleeves were there were only holes. “I was wondering if…you’d like to spar with me?” “Sure. No Prob.” They tensed. And charged at each other. The battle had begun.

Meanwhile, Rowan and Anubis were reading in the library when an extremely loud ‘CLANG!’ was heard. The noise had produced an echo, and while both of them recovering from the sound, a few books fell on their heads. They weren’t the only ones though. Kento’s tower (actually two) had toppled completely, hitting Kento as it fell.

Cye fell on the floor on the way to the library. Diablo, Michael, Whiteblaze, and Tickles, had fallen on each other. Sekhmet and Dais were affected by Anubis’s dreamcast and Cale’s playstation hitting them.

Cale was hurt from all of Sage’s hair products in the bathroom.  Ryo and Mia had gotten a few knocks with some of Cye’s pans. Anubis opened his one good eye (the other got hit by a book) and helped Rowan up.

Rowan looked at him and said, “What was that?!?” “I’m not sure, but I have a pretty good guess of who caused it.” With that, they helped Cye up and went downstairs. Outside, the battle was getting intense. Sage realized he underestimated his opponent.

Kyra, at one point during the fight, had flipped her sword and used the hilt to trip him. Their blades clashed with each other, biting like cold snakes. At one point Sage had managed to disarm her, but she kept fighting, using her arms, legs, elbows, and other body parts to fight him until she regained her weapon.

Anubis looked at the window and groaned. He was right, after all. He looked back. The others were looking a bit shocked about what happened. He motioned to the Warlords to take them outside, which they did, greeted by many “owwws.” When they got there, they saw Sage and Kyra breathing heavily, their no-datchis on the ground. Then they shook hands and headed towards the group.

Kento was the first to speak up. “What did you guys do?” “We were only sparring, Kento. She asked if she could spar with and I complied. Man, it took forever.” Sage replied, wiping sweat off his forehead. The others looked at Kyra, who shrugged. The suspicions of that Kyra was not what she seems hung in their heads for a second and faded.  All shook their heads and went inside for hot cocoa.
