Chapter Four: Uproar  

Anubis shook his head. He had to concentrate. He charged and locked blades with his opponent. After quite some time, they stopped. Andrea stood beside him and waited until he regained his breath. When he did, he found himself staring in a world made of ice. Green and blue myriad shapes all around him. He snapped back to reality.  

“Anubis, could you talk to Kyra? She’s not being herself.” He nodded. He himself was also curious of Kyra’s behavior. Since he was the only one who truly understood Kyra’s feelings, he should be the one to ask her. They headed to the house, where Kyra was consulting an ephemeris. Anubis smiled wryly. Kyra was pretty much the smartest person in the group besides him.  

Sometimes she had taken her intelligence to the extreme in many situations. He took note that Kyra was using the methods of horoscopes+ arithmancy+ necromancy. He didn’t know what the result would be and did not want to get involved. The last time it happened it had Anubis as a two-headed cobra, Dais as a metaly, Cale as a beetle, and Sekhmet as a cat.  

Kyra was not the only one in the living room. Cye was coloring a coloring book Kento gave him, Sage was meditating, Rowan was reading a copy of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Ryo was brushing Whiteblaze and Andrea was playing chess with Cale. Anubis was about to mention that he and Kyra should have some time alone when he was cut off by Dais and Sekhmet, who looked extremely pale, even for ex-dynasty warlords.  

“Whoa, you guys look like you’ve seen the bloody ghost of Jack The Ripper!” Cye exclaimed. Dais swallowed and replied; “Its too hard to explain. You will never believe us if we told you, so you have to come with us.”
