Chapter Five: Elementals & Mystics
The others followed Sekhmet and Dais into the forest. After quite some time they came into a large clearing never seen by any of them. “And that’s not all.” Sekhmet said. He pointed. They looked in the direction he was pointing to and saw the most beautiful and strangest herd of wild horses known to man.
The horses weren’t ordinary and their coats were thorough evidence. Cye thought he spotted an Andalusian decorated with the essence of water. Ryo swore he saw a thoroughbred with the element fire. Sage was so sure that he saw one that radiated light. Everyone saw these beautiful sacred creatures and wondered how they came to be here in the first place.
Anubis thought hard. He’d only seen these creatures one, and that was a mural. His grandfather had also told him the special names that have been given to the Alpha Leaders, a unit of steeds that governed the whole herd. ‘Terra, Meteor, Fireblaze, Aqua, Marfa, Kardis, Dreamer, Snakefang, Blizzara, Wisp ‘o Loyalty and…Damnit! I forgot the last one.’ He thought unhappily.
In response, one of the horses looked at him, in a frowning sort of way. It beckoned to his fellows in a nicker. They came forward. Rowan looked at the Arabian that approached him and touched his forehead. His kanji flared up and he looked at the stallion in awe. ‘It has the power to control the heavens and…is the mount of The Bearer of Strata.’ He thought.
Cye approached Aqua in fascination. He patted her neck. She blew her nose in response. As he touched her forehead his kanji flared. At the same time, both Ronins and Warlord were touching the horses. Kyra waited patiently until she saw a black stallion with silver eyes approach her.
She touched its forehead unconsciously and her kanji flared up brightly. “Storm’s Eye.” She whispered. Instead of fading her kanji only got brighter, and a small illusion of a dragon appeared above her head. Sage had noticed that in doing this action, Kyra’s energy layline had increased and was way too high for the average human. That filled his mind with questions about Kyra.
