After a few hours, they all packed up and mounted Leviathan and Bahamut. The
Eidolons had offered a ride to the Cleyran Pass, a rather nasty section of the
tunnels and the closest route to the stables. Rowan walked beside Cale and Cye,
in deep thought.
It had been two days since crossing the pass, and he was starting to brood
again
over his stolen love. But what he didn’t know was that they were already
out of
the frying pan and into the firestorm… Kyra moaned.
She felt drained and dying. She missed Touma terribly, and if that wasn’t
enough, Julien had officially named her the “Imperial Prostitute”.
She looked at
her hands, red with blood. Her blood.
Time was running out for her and Rowan… is she didn’t act quickly,
they would be
separated for all eternity to come. She fell into a disturbing slumber, her
dreams becoming a nightmarish reality.
Chapter Sixty-Eight: Nightmarish Realities
Kyra’s eyes fluttered open as soft light struck her face. She sat up
and looked
at her damp cell. As the days flew by, the cell had acquired a kind of homey
sense.
Funny, this jail cell, this dark pit felt like home to her. At this rate, she
was bound to lose her sanity and become claustrophobic.
Not that it was cramped. On the contrary, there was enough space for her to
walk
around. She just thought that it must have been getting to her. She fingered
a
silver earring in the shape of a sword.
Below the handle, there was a small emerald. She touched it and was rewarded
with memories of Parn and herself.
<Flashback…>
“I got something for you. Now close your eyes and don’t peek.”
He ordered. Kyra
felt his fingers push a fiery-red lock of hair behind her right ear. He
unclasped her silver dragonhead earring and put the other one in its place.
“Its an earring.” “Not just any earring, Kyra. You can use
it as a tool because
of your powers. Whenever you are in a fix, use it. It would really be of great
assistance.”
<End Of Flashback…>
She took it off and started working on her chains. After 2 minutes, her hands
were free, and she got to work on her ankles. Soon, she was finished and opened
the door. She slid out quietly, and worked her way up the corridors until she
came to what looked like the Imperial Heirlooms Chamber.
She went to a far wall, where a lone kasari-gama hung on the wall. Its blade
was
decorated with fiery designs engraved on its surface. The claw felt very light,
but that was due to her super-strength.
She dressed in black leather pants, white tank top, leather boots, and a long
black hooded cloak She also sported black leather sniping gloves. She took
several lances, and similar. The kasari-gama was only for emergencies. She
headed for the stalls to cause a diversion. Soon, Julien would be too busy to
send soldiers after her.
Chapter Sixty-Nine: Calm Before The Storm
Rowan hacked away at the various vines hanging above. He left a trail of uneven
vines and trailings. He had to get her out of the Dynasty! He pushed his hair
between his eyes out the way. It fell back in the same spot. “Oh, that
does it.
ARROWSHOCK WAVE!”
His sure-kill cry was louder than usual and his attack strangely resembled
Mega
Flare, Bahamut’s special attack when summoned to battle. When the others
caught
up, they found themselves staring at a blackened tunnel. Shredded plant life
hung from the roof, all cracked up.
They all looked at Rowan. The blue-haired archer had somehow become…more
dangerous than expected. Sekhmet paled slightly. He knew that when he or his
comrades found love, and if said love was in anyway harmed, they would
immediately go up in fumes and go after the culprit to reward them with a slow,
but very painful death.
But what their faces had shown in the past couldn’t compare to the look
on
Rowan’s face. He looked ready to kill, and hack away at his foe in tiny
little
pieces. Anubis was shocked at the intensity of his anger.
Rowan’s eyes blazed like an intense blue fire, which flickered and dissolved
back into his normal eye color. Rowan came out of what seemed to be trance,
he
turned to face them and said; “Let’s keep moving. We still have
a few more miles
to cover.” They all nodded and followed, lost in their thoughts.
