Rowan woke up to see 13 very curious teenagers staring down at him. He prodded
Kyra. She woke up only to have her smile turn into question. “We’re
in trouble,
aren’t we?”
Anubis nodded, and pulled her up. Kyra whimpered a little. Rowan stood up,
and
followed the others.
They headed to the kitchen and all sat down to eat breakfast. After they were
finished, Kyra and Rowan launched into a story of what really happened and Kyra,
of course, had to tell Anubis for the 20th time that she wasn’t pregnant.
“And we’re not the type of people to do it with our clothes on.”
She told him.
“I guess you’re right.” “Just don’t do that again.”
“Yes brother.”
And all the while, an unknown evil was watching their every move.
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Disaster Strikes
Kyra enjoyed watching the dawn. Her hair blew like a flowing torch of fire.
Her
thoughts were on Rowan, and how peculiar their relationship was. As she thought
about this, she didn’t notice that a creature was watching her.
Said creature stank, and was very ugly. It could only be an orc. It watched
her
with keen eyes, never leaving their target. It drew its bow towards her, arrow
on the ready. It pulled the string back and let go.
Kyra felt a sharp pain start on her arm. She looked down to see an arrow
sticking out of it. She fought the urge to scream, but it was too much. An
ear-splitting scream escaped from her lips. And her world went black.
Anubis heard the scream. With Rowan at his heels, they all ran to the clearing.
Andrea paled at the sight of an arrow sticking out Kyra’s arm.
Dais removed it, and for some reason, pocketed the arrow. Sage started to call
his armor when he noticed that Rowan took off his headband and tied it around
the wound.
Ryo watched as the white fabric of the headband slowly turned red. Cye looked
extremely pale. They watched as Rowan carried her in his arms towards the house.
They could easily guess how he felt. Sage felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned
around to see Cale. ‘We need to discuss this.’ ‘I know. Let
me tell the others.’
Telepathically, Sage told all of them to meet at the basement. Lastly he spoke
telepathically to Rowan. ‘You with us?’ Rowan nodded solemnly. They
went down to
the basement to discuss the incident.
Chapter Thirty: Intended Murder?
Everyone was in the basement to discuss the disturbing incident. After much
ruckus, Sage managed to get their attention.
They all stared at him while he spoke; “We are gathered here to discuss
a
terrible deed done by an unknown creature. Said creature tried to murder Kyra,
but failed, as the arrow only struck her arm.”
He nodded to Andrea, who stood up and started speaking. “I demand that
we find
out who did this to Kyra!” The Warlords held her down.
Dais looked at the arrow. Something was wrong with the thing. Anubis noticed
this and grabbed his neck.
“Where did you find that?” “It was lying on the ground. You
should take a look
at it. Something’s not right.”
He looked at the crude arrow. It wasn’t magnificent, but primitive. And
its
stench (the arrow practically reeked!) was the most horrible smell (besides
a
dragon farting) he ever smelt. As they passed it around, all of them
complimented on the strangeness of the arrow.
Anubis realized there was an unknown substance in the arrow. Sekhmet drew it
out
onto a metal plate. It was a black, putrid, awful smelling substance. Dais
sniffed it suspiciously. He smelled a copper kind of smell, only stronger.
The strange liquid was blood. Which made Anubis pale even more. This blood,
was
not in any standards, normal.
If it got on a person’s skin, it would act like a slow, yet fast acting
poison.
Only one creature had this type of blood. And it lived in another realm. Orc-An
Elf Gone Bad.
