Mia's Magic, Chapter 11
Okay peeps, I've decided to make this a requirement for all the chapters I post-I need at least
10 reviews, or you're gonna be waiting a lot longer than two weeks to read the next chapter of
Mia's Magic. I know it seems harsh, but it worked on the last chapter, and all you other FFN
authors like getting reviews so you can sympathize. Now this chapter should be fairly interesting,
and I have another cliffhanger, so get those reviews in PDQ!
BTW, after I finish Mia's Magic, I'm thinking of doing a sequel set a few years later.
What do you guys think? Tell me please!
Also, BIG THANX to KT, Gundamchick2000, lita, Sarah, SAILORMOONS, Q. jules, PRINCESS4EVER44,
hope, Angel, Cerise, and gabby1128 for reviewing my last chapter! You people ROCK!
CHAPTER 11
"Is this the man you love?"
Mia took a deep breath, trying to figure out the best way to answer Jared. She could lie, say
she'd found a loophole, but Jared probably knew there was only one way to beat him. She could
answer honestly, but Mia was afraid Ryo wouldn't return the sentiment. Mia could refuse to
answer at all, but that could be taken as silent affirmation. Right now, the best thing to
do was play it cool.
"Maybe he is, maybe he isn't," Mia said, smirking. "What's it matter to you?" Now it was Jared's
turn to smirk.
"You'll never beat me, but without the person who broke my spell, each battle will be just like
the last one. And now I've cast another spell, Morgan! You have until 6 p.m. to defeat me, and
then you will be mine forever-no loopholes for true love this time!" Jared powered up, then
faded into the blackness with his sword over one shoulder. Mia mentally cursed herself and
Jared, then recalled a chain spell to keep people from being separated.
"-O sacred magicks of the universe,
I send you this plea in humble verse.
To keep my dear friend from being lost,
I need a mage-chain at any cost!-"
A chain made of red Love magic appeared and wrapped once around Mia's waist. It then wrapped
around Ryo's waist, and continued until the two were bound by a thick, strong chain rope. The
rope then disappeared, and Mia drew her Star Swords. She scanned the area for Jared, but couldn't
pick him out of the unexpectedly overwhelming Order magic. Ryo suddenly had the feeling that this
would be his last chance to get answers, so he asked the main question on his mind.
"Why did you lie to me, Mia?" Mia heard Ryo, but tried to pretend she hadn't. "Mia! Why did you
lie? Are you listening to me?" Ryo felt his temper begin to flare (no pun intended), but kept it
in check as he spun Mia around to face him. "Why didn't you tell me you loved me?" Mia stared at
Ryo in shock, then looked away.
"I couldn't, Ryo," she replied quietly, her voice cracking. "I was scared that if I told you what
I felt, you would hurt me-play with my heart or tell me you didn't feel the same. Do you know how
terrifying that is to a woman who's used to being confident about her emotions?" Looking away, Mia
sheathed her jittes, and Ryo noticed for the first time that she could even do that. Ryo also
noticed that Mia was shaking, and he was ecstatic. _She wouldn't be acting this way if she didn't
still feel the same as when the spell was broken,_ he reasoned, _so I just have to show her the
feeling's mutual._ Gently grabbing Mia's chin, Ryo turned her face back to him, leaned down, and
kissed her on the lips.

As Cye waited for something good to happen, he felt a sudden surge of magic. It was a familiar
type of magic, from a familiar person . . . Mia! For some reason her Love magic was growing
stronger. _But why?_ Cye wondered. _Why does Mia seem to be so much more powerful?_ Cye heard
a groan, and realized there was another person in the water-prison with him. "Where am I?" the
person asked, and Cye almost laughed. Jared had put Rowen and him in the same room! What a putz!
"Glad you're awake, Rowen," Cye said, smiling in the dark. "I think Mia's getting ready to kick
Jared's butt."
"That's good," Rowen replied drowsily. "I don't know about you, Cye, but being neck-deep in water
ain't exactly my idea of a good time. The sooner we get home, the better."
"Don't worry. I have the feeling we'll be out of here by the end of the day."

When the kiss finally ended, Mia felt strangely more powerful than ever. Ryo backed up enough
to get a good look at her, and saw that Mia was wearing a red version of Kayura's old armor.
"Those are some fancy duds," he said, smiling in approval. "Very nice."
"Why, thank you, kind sir," Mia replied in a Southern accent. "You can give me more compliments
after we defeat Jared and rescue the others."
"Easier said than done, Morgan!" Catching the pair off-guard, Jared appeared behind Ryo and
blasted him. It wasn't enough to knock Ryo unconscious, but it did put Mr. Wildfire in pretty
bad shape. Mia was immediately there to gently lay him down, then followed up with her own
blast at Jared. Then the two took their fighting stances, and the last battle was begun.
