Who is Voltes' Cousin?

As we know, Voltes V's most powerful weapon is his Laser Sword. The "M" from his chest is actually the guard part of his Laser Sword. The blade and the Hilt (sword handle) extrudes from this "M" sword guard. With the laser sword, Voltes V can slice his enemy into two, ultimately ending the combat. "M" stands for Mazinger Z.

On the other hand, Mazinger Z's most powerful weapon is his BREAST FIRE. Heat beams are generated from his chest plates to melt any metallic or organic enemies. The Shape of his Chest Plates forms a letter "V". "V" stands for Voltes.

So I guess, Voltes V and Mazinger Z are related to each other. Coincidence? Your call. . .
